Gérard Pélisson

Additional information

He provides Institut Paul Bocuse with the means to pursue its action and enable it to become a permanent catalyst for the innovation and modernity that embody the French "art de vivre".

Born in Lyon, Gérard Pélisson is the co-founder of the Accor Group, one of the world's largest hotel groups. As of 2006, everything he does is on a voluntary basis. As a result, he exudes passion in what has always been the main focus of his career: France's prestige and its cultural and economic influence throughout the world.

In 1997, he took over the reins of Ecully's Culinary Arts and Hospitality school, which was in a very difficult financial position, by privatizing it with backing from Accor. At his request, the school adopted the Institut Paul Bocuse name in 2002.

Gérard Pélisson expresses great admiration for Paul Bocuse, and together they share the same goal: making the school a place of passion and transmission. His desire is to share his vision with the students, a vision of the most demanding service trades, so that they become ambassadors of the French "art de vivre".

In 2015, which marked Institut Paul Bocuse's 25th anniversary, he created the "G&G Pélisson pour Institut Paul Bocuse" Foundation to ensure that it enjoys both growth and influence in France and abroad over the long term.
